This a full-time, 24-month term position.
General Description:
Serves as an integral member of the brand communications management team at Shedd Aquarium by supporting day-to-day brand and advertising operations. The brand traffic assistant helps maintain the communications production calendar and acts as a liaison between the brand communications team members and other departments to ensure each communications piece goes through proper channels and stays on schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Track timelines and notify team and departmental contacts when deadlines are approaching or have passed. Make necessary adjustments to timelines and communicate those changes to all stakeholders.
• Traffic all jobs for approvals. Ensure approval from all key stakeholders on each project, including project manager, editor, designer, sponsorship and departmental contact.
• Serve as a key member of the brand communications team. Work closely with production coordinator and media coordinator to ensure everyone has all of the specifications and details necessary to complete a project. Help track down information as needed.
• When requested changes are complex, or clarification is needed on a project, work with supervisor to pull together a meeting with the appropriate stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field. 1-2 years of applicable experience in marketing or advertising.
• Motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and a team player.
• Exceptional organizational skills required. Basic computer skill with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Previous advertising agency experience a plus.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
