This is a full-time, regular position.
General Description:
Manages the membership program, including the implementation of monthly renewals, special gift campaigns and membership acquisition campaigns. Oversees membership desk and service in conjunction with guest services staff.
Duties and Responsibilites:
• Working with the assistant director of membership, assists in the development and implementation of the annual strategic plan for the membership program, including fulfillment of new and existing members.
• Manages member-retention program implementation.
• Manages fulfillment program for member benefits.
• Serves as primary liaison for member service issues and advocates for membership through participation in aquariumwide teams.
• Assists in development strategy and management of new-member acquisition, specifically direct-mail campaigns, and assists with additional annual-fund giving.
• Collaborates with guest services strategy and manages day-to-day implementation of on-site sales program. Additionally, creates tracking mechanisms to assist with future strategic planning.
• Implements member events with assistant director of membership and event planning staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree desired.
• Minimum of two to three years' experience in development, preferably at a major institution with responsibility for annual fund and/or membership programs. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong customer-service skills required. Strategic planning experience. Volunteer and staff supervisory experience desired. Proven track record in budget management.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Word/Excel. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software highly desirable.
• Ability to work with people in all stations of life (including trustees, corporate leaders, major donors, support staff, etc.). Detail oriented.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure, meet deadlines and manage several projects at one time.
• Occasional evening and/or weekend hours required.
