This is a full-time, regular position.
General Description:
Performs data entry and various financial functions in support of the BASS (business and shared services) group.
Duties and Responsibilites:
• Inputs admissions, gift processing, group sales and accounting cash receipts data in Great Plains accounting software. Inputs journal entries as needed.
• Opens, prioritizes and distributes mail within the group. Inputs daily checks received in cash-receipts database and prepares daily cash receipt spreadsheet.
• Processes lockbox receipts and distributes to appropriate departments. Orders office supplies for the group as necessary.
• Acts as petty cash cashier; reviews petty cash requests for appropriate authorization, documentation, charge codes and compliance with aquarium policy. Balances petty cash and prepares weekly report of petty cash charges for reimbursement. Sells daily and monthly parking passes. Books airline reservations utilizing United Airlines in-kind miles and maintains database for tracking in-kind miles.
• Performs check-clearing function in the accounts payable system. Daily attendance and admission reporting (Flash report).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma required. Some bookkeeping or accounting knowledge preferred.
• Must have good data-entry and spreadsheet skills; previous work with Excel desirable.
• Good communication and analytical skills, able to handle multiple tasks at once and tactful in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional, cooperative and friendly work attitude with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness and service.
