Spooky Camp Shedd
Oct. 19 to 31
You don’t have to wait until dark for live-animal encounters with our special nocturnal creatures. They’ll be out and about during the day.
But nighttime is the right time for hunting.
You’ll be in awe of the owls, whose silent flight helps them go “gotcha!” to rodents and other small animals. Down on the ground, corn snakes use stealth and a streamlined shape to slip through vegetation or down burrows to get their prey. Other snakes, like the python, have heat-sensing pits above their lips to detect and catch a warm-blooded meal in the dark. And the tarantula has its own secret weapons.
You’ll come back from Spooky Camp Shedd with true tales better than ghost stories!
Shark-O’-Lantern
Or seahorse? Those are some of the choices among our Spooky Seas jack-o’-lantern stencils. Download and print your favorite stencil on a sheet of 8½ x 11-inch paper. Tape the stencil to the “face” side of your pumpkin, trace the pattern and carve. Take a picture of your pumpkin and upload it to Sheddheads. While you’re there, take a look at the assortment of photos and videos and vote for your favorites.
